Description
Abraham Lincoln, an American politician and lawyer, is best known for serving as the 16th president of the United States and leading the country through the bloody and controversial Civil War. Some of his most celebrated and lasting contributions include the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 and pushing the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution through Congress, permanently outlawing slavery, before his assassination in 1865.
