Los Angeles, 1942. Norma Jeane Baker lives a lonely childhood and takes refuge in the cinema. Although an arranged marriage forces her to give up her dream of becoming a star, when a photographer attempts to make her a famous model, Norma de la comes to life on camera and leaves all of her insecurities behind. She soon realizes that her place is in the spotlight; that only under her light can he be happy. But, to achieve this, she must first free herself from the puritanical rules of the time to get rid of Norma Jeane and become a unique woman whose name will shine in her firmament for generations: Marilyn Monroe.
